CPRO conlog demonstrated great flexibility and customer focus in the SAP EWM project. We greatly appreciated the friendly, uncomplicated and pragmatic approach.

The background
Neuendettelsau: This is where Phytobiotics' production facility is located - the basis for 80% of the company's turnover. Natural feed additives and organic trace elements for ruminants, poultry, pigs and aquaculture are produced in the Franconian municipality. And where there is production, there must also be storage. Previously, Phytobiotics did this without a warehouse management system. In the course of the introduction of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, together with CPRO INDUSTRY, this was to change. In its search for a suitable consultancy firm, the animal feed manufacturer once again found what it was looking for at CPRO GRUPPE - and commissioned CPRO conlog with the implementation of "embedded EWM".
The challenge
Now it was time to go from 0 to 100 in one year. And under special conditions: "The great speciality of this warehouse is that the stocks belong to different companies," explains Arne Glowalla, project manager at CPRO conlog, adding: "We also had to take into account in every project phase that the system is completely new territory for the key users."
The warehouse processes were to be mapped as simply as possible and as comprehensively as necessary. They did not want to overburden the key users, but at the same time wanted to ensure that the system would run smoothly. For the implementation, the team of consultants chose the "fit-to-standard" approach and relied on SAP best practices with only minimal customisation when importing the processes. They also built an interface to the machine system in the production environment and introduced a mobile scanner solution in line with the "away from paper" principle. This should make barely labelled pallets a thing of the past in future.
The project's success
With "embedded EWM", Phytobiotics now has a warehouse management system with streamlined and, above all, standardised processes. This allows the feed manufacturer to access SAP process documentation and also makes support easier. With SAP EWM, new employees should also be able to familiarise themselves with the system more quickly in future, as they no longer need to build up knowledge of a large number of specifications. "We are particularly impressed by the transparency, traceability and batch traceability - we really missed that in this form," explains Tobias Deffner, Operations Manager at Phytobiotics.
