AutoStore was designed by a Norwegian company and is an innovative system for the automated storage and picking of small parts. The container guide and the rails for the AutoStore robots are supplied by a self-supporting, modular aluminium grid. These battery-operated, wirelessly controlled robots move along the grid and transport the containers to the port workstations where the storage and picking processes are carried out.

Unlike conventional storage systems, AutoStore has no aisles or shelves. The fact that the containers are stacked directly on top of each other to save space results in high volume consumption. AutoStore can be flexible and scalable due to its modular design, which enables it to adapt easily to changing storage requirements.
