The challenge
Imports and exports are subject to ever stricter controls. In recent years, security regulations have become stricter worldwide and there are a growing number of regulations. In this environment, it has become essential for SIEB & MEYER to consistently ensure compliance with customers, suppliers and customs authorities. They needed a solution that would make their processes for both importing and exporting goods fast, legally compliant and cost-effective. The key to success here was automation. ERP integration was also important.
The solution
With CPRO conlog, an implementation partner was found with many years of experience in the logistics SAP consulting environment and a deep understanding of the complex topic of customs and foreign trade. The import process was completely translated into the SAP GTS system and automated from the MRN number to the unloading authorisation to the custody notification and finally the tax assessment. In addition, the preference calculation, sanction lists and export processing modules were implemented.
The project's success
With the powerful, modern SAP GTS software solution, which was connected to the ERP system implemented by CPRO INDUSTRY, SAP S/4HANA, SIEB & MEYER has now automated its entire customs processing and needs up to 70 per cent less time compared to the previous process. Thanks to close collaboration between CPRO conlog and the SAP team at SIEB & MEYER, it was possible to go live within the planned time of just four months.
